DISCIPLINE POLICY
According to Montessori Methods Discipline has its origin in work. The children are encouraged to respect every single material that is in their environment and respect everyone who is in the environment.
Sunita’s Montessori School LLC uses a discipline policy that is consistent. Problems relating to discipline are handled immediately and consistently.
REDIRECTION: Most of the time the method used for discipline is redirection. Children automatically get disciplined when their mind is diverted into doing an activity that interests them. Sometimes they need help in making a decision, such as picking up activities or works.
SEPARATION FROM THE GROUP: At times when children have problems in discipline they are made to sit separately and continue doing their activity. Children are never asked to sit separately without doing an activity.
CONSISTENT PROBLEMS: If a consistent problem is observed in a child relating to discipline (disrespect towards the adults and children in words and action), the parents will be notified.
